Renn Faire Set 4
May. 12th, 2003 03:34 pmThe Last Set. Us playing with swords at the Neill House apartments upon our return. We had quite an audience for this from the surrounding balconies. Our upstairs neighbors, and the building directly across. One guy from the other building was asking us about the kind of steel and we briefly discussed steel types in a yelled conversation across the paking lot from ground to 2nd (or 3rd) floor.
Parking Lot Sword Play

Big Red holds up the two swords he got at the end of the day auction at the Pirate sword shop. A replica of the official Witchking, and a long dagger with a cool blade. He was reffered to as Adidas because of the shirt at the sword auction, and he bought a necklace with the nordic rune for "Warrior" on it, thus became the Red Warrior Adidas.

At the same place as where the auction was later held, Ashley got the Sword of Darkness mate to her Sword of Light she picked up in Gatlinburg. I heckled one guy at the shop about the fake LotR swords, and he heckled me back, it was fun, and I showed Jana how to pick out whether or not Lee's swords were genuine Swords of the Ancients or replicas.
Later at the Starfire sword shop we also disscussed tang and sword steel. I think Jana learned quite a bit. As she said in her LJ, "I didn't realize there was such an art to sword shopping."

Red and Ashley face off with their new toys. Red! You use the long dagger for defense, so it's held closer to you, lead with the long sword! *laughs*

And then, I got my genuive LotR Witchking, and Red and I faced off, the replica versus the official reproduction. I think mine's nicer. And it's a good 6 inches longer amusingly enough.
