     "Would that be alright?"
     "I suggested it, didn't I?" Lesley smiled. "That would make feel better too, knowing you're not meeting this guy alone."
     Kira moved over to sit next to Lesley again and put an arm around his shoulder in a friendly hug. "Thanks Lesley."
     "No prob'." He smiled down at her and ruffled her hair with one hand. "Yeesh, it's like I have two little sisters. Except Kody's not all huggy."
     "Oh? What's that?" Kira smiled back mischievously. "Your pupils look paler suddenly?"
"Oh, fun~ny!" Lesley replied sarcastically.
     "Nel mondo cammino, nel cerchio che piloto." Kira whispered the levitation spell into his ear jokingly. "Ah!" She squeaked in surprise when she was suddenly floating a foot above the bed.
     Lesley looked over at her, and then fell over on his side, laughing so hard he could barely breathe.
     "Lesley!" Kira was serious. "How do I get down?"
     "I dunno." He said looking up at her, holding back his laughter only long enough to answer. "I just fell." More laughter. "When you knocked." He continued laughing, his eyes watering slightly.
     Kira looked away from Lesley and closed her eyes to concentrate. She managed to get herself to drift down to the bed and stop floating. She leaned over and helped the still laughing Lesley to sit up.
     "Sorry." More laughter, and he brushed away a couple of tears. "I just can't seem to stop." He continued laughing even harder.
     "Oh great. You're not going hysterical on me now, are you?" Kira brushed hair back out of his face. "Come on Lesley. I can't deal with that. Calm down."
     "Deep breaths." He managed out, and he did start to slow the laughing fit slightly.
     "It's just been too much for you today I think." Kira said consolingly.
     "Yeah." Lesley shook his head slowly after he stopped laughing. "Well, there's one more point for the connection between our parents scorecard, huh?"
     "No kidding." Kira kept one arm around Lesley's shoulder. "Who knows? Maybe we're cousins or something."
     "That would be really bizarre Kira."
     "'Cause it's not strange at all now, huh?"
     "Point. So that woman who contacted you, what was her name?"
     "Branwyn Atrus."
     "That's the same as from my email."
     "I know."
     "You didn't mention this before... Why?"
     "You were already upset. That wasn't going to help matters."
     "Ki~ra..." He gave her the same annoyed look that he always did when she hadn't told him something important as soon as it came up.
     "I know. I know." She smiled. "At least you're calmer now."
     "Right." He smiled and shook his head. "Well, when Miss Brandy deems it time to call back, tell her you'll meet him in my hometown, and you'll have a guest with you."
     "Should I mention that it's you?"
     "No. I think we get to catch Miss Brandy off guard on that one."
     "What if she sends you more e-mails?"
     "We'll handle that if and when it happens."

I now have 4 and a quarter pages written in MS Word. It's not quite finished, but close. Next installment should close it. I'll really need some serious feedback then.

I was just quickly scanning my friend's LJ posts when I spotted this... I started reading just a little bit while intending to come back and read it all later but I couldn't stop until I got to the end! Grrrr... You always have to go and be interesting on me don't you? I never have been able to get enough of your writing so write more dammit! =)

Of course it's interesting. You spend the first several paragraphs seeing how Lesley and Kira act, and from the get go you've been waiting to see what Lesley's hding. I know how to write involving stuff when I try. The real trick is closing it in a way that makes me and reader-san happy.
