Well. I've now officially attended the starting ... Well what's the best term... episodes? meetings? ... doesn't really matter... Of my classes for this semester. Well... except my Java II lab. That's in a couple of hours.
So... Report time.
Monday I had Java II and Digital Circuits.
Java II is at 10am. It meets in the Textile building where I've never had a class in before. Well I set out extra early so I could find it. Unfortuneately, I set out early thinking the class was at 9am. So when I checked my schedule once I found it, I had an extra hour before class started. Oops...
So we get in the classroom, and there's several people from my old Java I class in there. Which is nice. The professor seems fairly cool, Hendrix. Unfortuneately, the textile building is a bad spot for a programming course, but it was the only available room. There's a very small dry erase board and a high school type overhead projector. No computer, no net acess, none of the things a programming course NEEDS in a classrom. So he's going ahead to start lab this week instead of next so we can learn the software.
Then Digital Circuits. Crystal, and another girl from my Java I class are in there with me, yay. Problem. The teacher just started. As in does not even have an e-mail account yet. He had no plan, ignored the book, but expects us to read it and follow both him and it. He spoke too softly to be heard except on the first few rows and wrote illegibly and in nothing but diagrams and acronyms that mean nothing to those of us with no previous digital classes. And no, previous digital classes aren't required for the course. This guy just came straight out of the field, I don't think he's ever taught before.
Gah!!!
And today, my classes started at 8am. Great Books 2. Probably the only class I could stand at such an early hour. The teacher is still recovering from a surgery so he sent another teacher to meet us, hand out sylabi, and tell us our reading assignments. There are some people from my GB1 class in there too, which is nice.
Then at 9:30 is my Linear Algebra class. The teacher sems really nice, and I know several people in the class from older ones.
So. All is looking better from yesterday. ^_^
Now I have a 3:30pm to 4:45pm Java lab this afternoon.
Then are my clubs.
Pantheon meets tonight at 7pm.
So does anime club.
So I'll be a bit late for anime club. I dunno. Maybe I won't. We have a bunch of new members coming, and I gave directions and my cell phone to call if they get lost. So... Actually I really should be at anime club. Plus... I think we're doing re-elections... And... Well I ought to be there, I'm secretary and kinda responsible for a bunch of people finding their way there... And I'd hate to have my cell go off mid-pantheon meeting.... And it is just re-writing the constitution... And I wasn't here like all last Spring...
I dunno!
Any opinions out there?
