Happy Holidays to Everyone!
And here's a bit of Fakiru love for my friends list.
I noticed recently that most of my PT Fakiru art ends with a sad twist, so here's a purely happy one. (This is the next evening after my desktop line art: http://elfgrove.deviantart.com/art/Window-Nap-Line-Art-72967278 )
Ahiru pulled down on the hand-made scarf, adjusting it in place around his neck. She blushed as she spoke, not looking him in the eyes, "Merry Christmas Fakir. I made it myself, so don’t you go making fun of how it turned out."
Fakir smiled. This was the tricky part. He never could manage to be as suave in person as he was on paper. "Idiot." He’d already screwed up. That couldn’t be helped though. It was just how they were together. He put a hand under her chin, tilting her face up to look at his. He carefully kept his left hand behind his back. "How am I supposed to compete with a handmade present?"
Ahiru laughed then. "Geeze Fakir! Its not a competition!" She tugged on his new scarf nervously. "I mean, you don’t even have to get me anything. I was almost expecting you to tell me I’d wasted my time..."
Fakir slid his right hand down to rest on her arm, keeping her close to him. "Well, I got you something Moron. Its store bought, and I know you didn’t really want people spending money on you. But I was hoping you might accept it anyways." He brought his left hand around, to show her the small black velvet box, "Since it was me asking."
She released one of her hand’s grips on his new scarf and held the tiny box he had offered close to her chest. The other hand, still clutching the scarf against his chest tightened unconsciously, and her eyes were shining as he looked back up at him. Ahiru was smiling.
"You understand what that is, right?"
She nodded slightly, never breaking eye contact.
"Then?" His nerves were getting the better of him, quickly.
She continued beaming at him, but she hadn’t said a word since he had brought the tiny box out.
"You’re not going to make me actually say the words are you?"
"Yes."
Fakir felt the smile spread across his face.
