I saw the movie too. I admit I really liked the first half of the movie (or as I described in my own post - the first 50 minutes are suprinsly encouraging!) but I hated the ending, mostly because it was rushed and the CGI became suddently very horrible (like the changed studios of budgets halfway or something.) I somewhat still liked that Goku, though you're right, he's more Gohan then goku. One of my friends also said they should have just called the guy gohan and all the fans would have been happy.
I liked grandpa gohan. We never got to see him in the original manga, so it was neat to see him.
My main complaint about the movie was no krillin. Krillin is awesome. Of course, after seeing it, I realise there would have been no space for him (his character would have been rushed at best). But it would have been fun to see at least a Krillin cameo at the martial arts tournament.
The dragon balls looked pretty much as I imagined them. I was happy.
