Read my rant.
[EDIT]
Big thank you to everyone who talked to me on AIM tonight. Especially Matt and Neph. You two really helped me feel a bit better. And a big thank you to Dave-kun too, I hope we can be in the same math this Fall.
On the phone....
Ashley, thank you for listening to me and caring. And to everyone waving in the background, especially the one using two hands and a foot, and the first one to yell hey, V-babe. Everyone else too though! Gods I needed to smile just then. Silas, insane as he was, the impromtu "poem" got the first good real laugh out of me all day.
And Patrick. Thanks for the call. Sorry for sounding so down. I just couldn't help it. It meant a lot that you called though.

Date: 2003-06-10 08:32 pm (UTC)Oh, it's a collie? I can't believe this slipped my mind but my best friend as a young boy had a collie named Brandy who lived for about eight or nine years after developing epilepsy - without having any major problems up until the end of her life. I loved that dog and still have a lot of memories with her in them.
I also had a cat who lived over a year and a half before disappearing (neighbours, most likely) after developing a serious neurological disorder; his brain had to create new pathways to accomodate proper motor function and cognitive process.. but he struggled through and was basically a normal cat after a few months. I'd like to think that there is always hope when things aren't absolutely immediately terminal.
Again, you & yours are in my thoughts. The thing to be glad for is that it could have been worse, but isn't. *warm hugs* Sorry that I can't say anything that feels better than this, but from my experiences in life you can see where I wouldn't necessarily expect the worst from your situation.
Wish you well, always.
