Sep. 21st, 2003 02:40 pmYesterday was interesting.
I'd gone to the 9:45 showing of Underworld the night before (Friday), then to IHOP, then got in about 2-3ish am?
Then I had a lunch date at noon with a random guy from the laundromat who asked for my phone number. He's not the sort that I find attractive, but he got brownie points for having the guts to follow me out to the car to ask for my number.
I knew nothing about this guy except his name was Adam. Yeah... This is not very Becky-like behavior. When I went on the date with (long-haired) Dave, I had already met him prior, and he and Jamie were talking to me at the laundromat already. This guy just kinda came up as I was leaving.
So apparently the only rtime I get picked up on is at the laundromat when I feel as though I look like crap. Figures.
Anyways. The guy picked me up and we went all the way to the Opelika Cracker Barrel. We talked about a bunch of generalstuff, trying to get to know each other some, though I was the one asking questions, he really didn't ask me much. He was mostly trying to put his arm around me, and hold my hand... and just.... To me, that's just not something you do with someone who's basically a complete stranger. I'm not a very touchy person with people I don't know.
He's 23, getting ready to go to culinary school, has been in and out of college for 7 years (no degree yet), and works at the Amsterdam Cafe. He's another guy who's all into the open doors for ladies and such, which, while I was raised on the Chivalry principles, I don't take well to people making a point of holding the door for me most of the time, becase I wanted to be a knight as a kid, not a princess. So when I held the door for him a couple of times, he made somwe remark about what was that supposed to be women's lib? Grrr... Anyhoo...
He brought me back to Neill House, came in and just kind of exmained my apartment really closely, trying to figure out who I was. Which is rather embarasing to stand there and watch someone do. Not cool. Then as he was leaving, he kept trying to kiss me. If I wasn't all cool with touching someone who I don't know well, you can imagine that went over about like a lead balloon. I played it off well enough though it seems.
He intends to call me to go out again sometime. I'm thinking group thing if I do.
He seems like a nice enough guy, but I dont think I'm interested in him at all.
I guess I'm just too old-fashioned.
After he left, I went and hung out with Mary, Patrick and Red. Then Patrick, Red, and I hit up Pagan Pride Day. Dave was alrwady there, and so were a lot of the Anime Club newbies (no offense meant in the term newbie of course). It was so late in, I only got to listen to part of (long-haired) Dave's seminar on animal spirits, and participate in the ritual. Red and Patrick left after the ritual. We played with one of the giant Wal-Mart balls for a while, then cleaned up and hit Mellow Mushroom for dinner. Hanging out outside MM after, a large group of thePPD people decided to go se the 9:45 showing of Underworld, and Dave told me I had to go too, so I called Ashley, 'cause Patrick had said earlier we probably shouldn't do FireHouse that night 'cause it would've just been he, Ashley and I. So, after much proddinfg, Ashley and I went to see Underworld. Everyone decked out in black gear, including (long-haired) Dave in a skirt and fishnet top, and Jessica(an anime club newbie) in a long green (she said Mana?) wig. And me, with most of my black stuff still dirty, was in white and grey. Looked like Switch (the woman in white) from the Matrix mixed in there with everyone else like that.
See the pictures:

After that we dropped Ashley at Neill House 'cause she was exauhsted. I then went with Jamie and (long-haired) Dave to a party on Toomer's St. Where I watched the freshman kids get somewhat drunk. I think Dave and I were the only ones who didn't drink anything.
Then a bunch of us hit WaffleHouse.
I returned to my apartment about 5am and crashed.

I KNOW THAT GUY!
Sara (Hellcat) is a good friend of his. She calls him her brother in fact. We see him at IHOP a lot also. He's kinda cool, though personally I think he's shady and manipulative.
That him?

She says that he is really sweet. But I still think he's shady.
Congrats on the date btw. Wish I could get one like that...
