elfgrove: (Not Your Savior [dercesthai])
Mood: distressed
Tuesday, about 10 - 10:30 pm, I look out the upstairs window and see a red light. Very odd, it's my car's back lights. They haven't been on all day, how did they get on? I go out to investigate. It's not exactly a simple case of my car lights being left on, it's my brake lights. And they will not go off. So I'm on the phone with my Mom, having a fit because I cannot really get help at this time of night, my lights won't go off, I have work in the morning that I have to leave for about 7:10am to be on time, and there will be no one I can jump my battery off if it dies. I finally managed to jerry-rig the brake pedal to be pushed out a lttle extra to get the light to stay off, then wenrt down to get sleep before work. This was done using my new/used hardback of Le Morte D'Arthur. That was not what I intended it for.

Matt apparently talked to my Mom online and called to check on me. That was nice, and I probably needed it, I had started crying from stress and frustration. I have a couple of other things that had already been stressing me, the car just topped it all off.

I got to work in the morning, with several different cars riding my bumper because they're too damned stupid to notice my brake lights aren't working (they just stay on constantly.) So they're solution is to stay on my bumper. Nice.

Once I got to work, I managed to cut the side of my right hand on something. And the project has been "not fun" this week to say the least.

I found a brake and muffler shop to take the car to after work. They look at my car and tell me a small plastic ring broke and needs to be replaced, but they can't get the part for an hour, which would be after they closed (but it would only take 10minutes max to install). I tell them to order the part and I'll come back either during lunch or after work tommorrow. Then I have another nice, long, nerve-grating drive between Minneapolis and Chaska.

The drive in this morning was worse that both of yesterdays. One guy rode my bumper for 15 minutes straight in high morning rush traffic. I was ready to kill him if he hit my car.

I took my lunch break to go get the car fixed. Got there, they took my keys and aked me to wait. Then... sometime later they tell me they're waiting on the part because they weren't going to ask for it until 3 or 4pm originally... Grrr.... So I waited and waited, and ended up taking a 2 hour lunch for a part that took them 2 minutes to install.

At least my car lights work correctly now.

So damned frustrated... Want sleep....
Will see Spiderman 2 Saturday... And I'm thinking of going to the Warehouse District downtown Saturday or Sunday... Maybe Monday... Keep forgetting I have the 5th off.
