More Cosplay Progress

The Dragon*Con 2010 costume line-up/to-do list. Days are undecided, except Blue Spirit will be at least Saturday morning, due to having signed up for the parade group.

Maker Hooks [Dune]
- Paint ends solid brown.
- Ship & invoice Brooke.
Steampunk Swan Maiden
- Just need to wash and pack.
Lady Blackhawk/Zinda Blake
- Make front jacket flap.
- Buy wig.
Blue Spirit [Avatar: The Last Airbender]
- Re-wrap sword handles.
- Finish mask.
Jihl Nabaat [FF13]
- Take in shirt & vest.
- Add snaps to jacket.
- Modify shoes.
- Modify belt.
- Make baton sling.
- Paint logo on armband.
- Make red mini tie-thing.
- Make armor.
- Add EL wiring. (May not do EL wiring in time for D*Con--final step.)

The Dune sticks are ready to be shipped except for one small painting modification.

My entire weekend was pretty-much sacrificed to cosplay. Here you can see the still-drying Blue Spriit mask base, the arm & leg bracers with gold fire-nation symbol details, and the finished double sword sheath. (Sash and the rest of the costume are not pictured.)
The Jihl baton and Blackhawk logo for the jacket are in there, as well as the Dune Maker Hooks. And of course, various propping materials are lined up to the side.

Sorry! I hate to miss out (and I hate not getting to see you!!!), but hospital/doctor bills have taken up all our free money this year. Next year, though!

I'm already picking at new 2011 costumes and telling myself not to take on so many. Besides, I want to do more sci-fi/fantasy/comic stuff for D*Con and less new anime stuff for my other cons. I'm getting a significant cosplay chest and should re-wear more.

I try to limit it to one new costume set a year ( operative word being try ). Especially since I have to make my costume plus Jesse's for any new group we try.

I know we're going to bring back Galaxy Quest next year, and Jesse and I, at least, are planning to do Doctor Who again, although this year I'm thinking about doing the 4th Doctor and Romana II instead of 10 and Rose. Other than that, we haven't really discussed so if you have any sci-fi/fantasy ideas you want to throw in the hat, feel free!

Oh no, I didn't mean anything like that. It's just that I like Blackhawk and was impressed as all hell to see it being brought up for cosplay out of the blue :) Especially since it's one of those older series that you almost never hear about anymore.
